Who is Kevin Oeser?
Kevin Oeser is a screenwriter, director, editor, and playwright. His short films have played at festivals around the world and been viewed millions of times online and featured by Funny or Die, Vimeo, CNN, and the New York Times. His feature script Terrible Parents was produced in audio form by the Black List Table Reads podcast and was named by many outlets one of the best podcast episodes of that year. Kevin wrote for YouTube Red's first animated comedy series Paranormal Action Squad and was the head writer for YouTube's 2016 Mariah Carey Christmas special. Kevin was featured on the 2018 Hit List, a poll of Hollywood’s best spec screenplays, as well as on The Tracking Board's Young and Hungry list of top up-and-coming writers in Hollywood. In 2018, he won the ATX TV Festival Pitch Competition with his series Downline. He is also a fellow of the Black List Screenwriters’ Lab.
On the stage, Kevin has studied and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade, Los Angeles for many years. He also wrote and directed The Milford Project, a musical comedy that was named Best of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Kevin is well-known in the comedy world as a film and television editor. He cut Comedy Central’s hit show Another Period and the cult-favorite Garfunkel and Oates for IFC. He also edited the Sundance hit Hell Baby and some of Funny or Die’s most popular videos.
Kevin grew up in Sacramento, California and attended the school of cinema at USC. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and insecurities.
