Kevin Oeser is a screenwriter, director, editor, and playwright. His short films have played at festivals around the world and been viewed millions of times online, featured by Funny or Die, Vimeo, CNN, and the New York Times. His most recent writing work was adapting the true story Sesame Street, Palestine into a feature screenplay for 141 Entertainment. His screenplay Terrible Parents, currently being produced by the Montecito Picture Company, was also recorded in audio form by the Black List Table Reads podcast, named by many outlets as one of the best podcast episodes of that year. Kevin wrote for YouTube Red's first animated comedy series Paranormal Action Squad and was the head writer for YouTube's 2016 Mariah Carey Christmas special. He was featured on the Hit List, a poll of Hollywood’s best spec screenplays, as well as on The Tracking Board's Young and Hungry list of top up-and-coming writers in Hollywood. He won the ATX TV Festival Pitch Competition pitching his series Downline. He is a fellow of the Black List Screenwriters’ Lab.
On the stage, Kevin studied and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade, Los Angeles for many years. He also wrote and directed The Milford Project, a musical comedy that was selected as Best of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Kevin is a former film and television editor whose credits included Comedy Central’s Another Period, cult favorite Reno 911, the Sundance hit Hell Baby, and more than a few extremely viral videos.
Kevin is a fourth-generation Californian who grew up in a rural community near Sacramento and attended the school of cinema at USC. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and insecurities.
